On Sunday, March 18, Family Dance Jam announces a special family event at Royal/T Café in Culver City relating to their exhibition Tag! You’re it! curated by Amber Noland. Family Dance Jam invites the whole family to come play and dance inside this exciting gallery/café for a jamming St. Patrick’s Day celebration. (Wear your green!)
Family Dance Jam brings movement, exploration and community to families everywhere. As the DJ spins hip grooves, a creative team of dancers lead easy and lively dance games for everyone to explore and get involved. Family Dance Jam is a festive atmosphere where mom, dad, kids and friends move, think, create and play. Its intergenerational focus gives families alternative, physical and unique ways to engage with each other and their environments.
Ilaan Egeland Mazzini, creative force behind Family Dance Jam is thrilled to bring a world of exploration and movement families in this dynamic space. “Family Dance Jam provides intergenerational groups the opportunity to move together in unsuspecting places like café’s, farmer’s markets, malls and more. We celebrate movement through a sense of play so you don’t even know you are making dances together. Being at Royal/T Café is an opportunity for us to connect to their vibrant local audience and share the café with our regular jammers.”
The Tag! You’re it! exhibition transforms Royal/T Café into a playground of contemporary art and imagination to inspire the next generation of artists and collectors. Many of the works are installed at kid level, encouraging younger audiences to literally see eye-to-eye with art making the show very family friendly (and fun!).
Families are encouraged to check out the exhibition, enjoy lunch and shop at Royal/T Café before or after the jam.
There are two Jams scheduled. 11:15 am and 12:45 pm.
The fee is $20 for up to 4 family members, $25 for families of 5-7 members.
Additional family $5 per person.
