Inspired merchandise in Royal/T's concept store mirrors the themes of concurrent exhibitions. In conjunction with the opening exhibition, Just Love Me, the inaugural concept for the Royal/T shop is Kawaii Kills. Kawaii Kills explores the notion of the overwhelmingly kawaii (cute) and its transformation via excess to the grotesque. Takaya Goto and William Heath examine this dichotomy of the cute and the horrific with carefully selected designer goods and limited artist multiples and prints rarely found in the US. With a strong, contemporary, Japanese influence the Royal/T shop stocks an impressive line of art and design books, magazines, toys, bags, T-shirts, watches, jewelry, wallets, CDs and DVDs, representing products from artists such as Yoshitomo Nara, Takashi Murakami and Yayoi Kusama.
